Nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines)

Nasolabial folds are the smile or laughter lines that form between the sides of the nose and the corners of the mouth. The folds separate the cheeks from the upper lip and generally become more pronounced as a person ages.

This is caused by downward movement of the malar fat pad, in conjunction with natural muscle shrinkage and loss of elasticity of the facial skin.

The overall impact may give an appearance of a sad, tired face.

Dermal fillers can be used to reduce the depth of the nasolabial fold by plumping up the skin and are also extremely effective in replenishing the lost volume in your cheeks, giving you natural looking and longer lasting results. Replacing mid-facial volume lifts the facial skin and gently eases out the nasolabial folds giving an overall rejuvenation appearance. We often use a combination of these approaches.
